Residential Light Installation
We Install Christmas Lights has been decorating homes across South-Western Ontario and the western GTA since 2016. Our crews measure and cut every strand to fit your specific roofline instead of stretching a generic string across the eaves, which is why displays look tidy rather than sagging by New Year's. Every job includes commercial-grade C9 bulbs or mini lights in warm white, multicolour, or red/white and blue/white combinations, all supplied by us.
Because we carry bucket trucks and aerial lifts, steep pitches, dormers and tall mature trees that a homeowner on a ladder would skip are no problem for our team. Lights attach with property-safe clips rather than staples or nails, and every cord and timer we run is CSA or UL rated. Most homes are fully lit in as little as one day, and you choose when the display switches on.

Booking opens in late summer and installs run from early October through the first week of December, so the earlier you request a quote, the more flexibility you have on scheduling. A crew visits or reviews photos of your home to plan where lighting will run along the roofline, around windows, and through any trees or shrubs you want included. On install day, the same crew custom-cuts every strand to fit, secures it with property-safe clips, and wires everything through CSA/UL-rated cords and timers. If you want your home lit unlit for now, that is fine, we can install early and you flip the display on whenever you are ready to start the season.
Every quote is custom because no two rooflines are the same. The main factors are the linear footage of roofline being lit, whether trees, shrubs or a wreath are added, the height and pitch of the roof (which determines whether we need a ladder or an aerial lift), and the number of colours or light types you choose. A single-storey bungalow with a straightforward roofline costs less than a two-storey home with dormers, mature trees and multiple light zones. We always confirm the final number before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
You do not need to be home for installation, though many homeowners like to walk the design with us first. Our crew works efficiently and safely around your landscaping, using property-safe clips instead of anything that punctures shingles, fascia or siding. Once the lights are up, we test every strand before we leave. If a bulb burns out or a connector loosens mid-season, our maintenance visit fixes it at no charge, so you are not the one standing on a ladder in December. Takedown is scheduled for January, once the holidays are behind you.

Most residential homes are fully installed in as little as one day, since our crew custom-cuts every strand ahead of arrival rather than measuring on site. Larger properties with trees, shrubs, a wreath and multiple light zones may need a longer visit, but we schedule the job so it is usually completed in a single trip from start to finish.
No. As long as we have access to your roofline, trees and an outdoor outlet, our crew can complete the install without you present, using property-safe clips and CSA/UL-rated cords the whole way through. We are happy to send photos once the job is finished, or walk through the design with you beforehand if you would rather be there in person.
Mid-season maintenance is included in every installation we do, at no extra charge. If a bulb burns out, a connector works loose, or an entire strand goes dark partway through the season, contact us and we send a crew back out to fix it, so your display stays fully lit through the holidays instead of going dark on the street.
Yes. Because installs run from early October through the first week of December, many homeowners have their lighting installed early and left unlit until they are ready to start the season, whether that is right after Halloween, on a specific date, or closer to December once the neighbourhood starts lighting up.
