Light Takedown
Getting lights up is the fun part, getting them down safely in January is where most homeowners lose enthusiasm. Our takedown service removes your roofline, tree and shrub lighting the same way it was installed, carefully, with property-safe methods that leave clips and cords intact for reuse next year. Whether we installed your lights originally or another company did, our crew can take down an existing display, working from what is actually on your home rather than a set of our own notes.
Timing depends on the weather. Ontario winters mean roofs can be icy well into February, so we schedule takedowns from January through early February, whenever conditions make it safe to get on a roof or use our aerial lifts. We are not in a rush to rip lights down the day after New Year's if the forecast says otherwise, we would rather wait a week and do it safely than risk a fall or damage to your home.

Once the holidays are over, we start booking takedown windows for our full-season and installation customers first, then open remaining slots to anyone who needs a standalone removal. We watch the weather closely, since a roof coated in ice or snow is not a safe place for a ladder or a lift, so exact dates shift year to year between January and early February. If you need your lights down by a specific date for an event or a home sale, mention it when you book and we will do our best to prioritize your property.
Takedown pricing depends on how much lighting is up, roofline length, whether trees or shrubs are included, and the height and accessibility of your home, the same factors that shape an installation quote. A standalone takedown for a display we did not install may take a little longer since our crew has to figure out the layout on site rather than working from our own design notes. We confirm the cost before the visit so there are no surprises when the crew arrives.
Our crew removes lighting the same careful way it went up, unclipping strands from the roofline, trees and shrubs without tugging on shingles, fascia or bark. Cords, timers and light strands are coiled and boxed so they survive storage in good condition rather than getting knotted into a garbage bag in the corner of your garage. If you added optional storage, everything goes straight into our inventory system so it is inspected and ready to reinstall the following season without you lifting a bin or sorting through tangled strands yourself.

Storage is optional and separate from takedown itself. If you would like your strands cataloged, inspected and kept until next season instead of going back into your garage, ask about year-round storage when you book your removal. Otherwise, we hand everything back to you cleanly coiled and packed once the crew finishes taking your display down.
